VBS at Woodlawn Christian Church!

This past week Aaron & Tracy spent a few days at Woodlawn Christian Church in Woodlawn, Illinois presenting The San Francisco Project to the church and the kids at their annual Vacation Bible School. Each night we showed pictures of the city, talked about how great of a city it is and why it is that they need a new church. It was a great experience communicating the vision and the need for a new church in San Francisco and seeing the kids eyes light up as they began to not only understand but displayed a growing desire to help make it a reality.

It was both amazing and humbling to watch each night as the kids made their way forward to give money in the offering to help this new church become a reality. We’re excited to be partnering with an amazing church and amazing kids and to know that they’re rooting for us is tremendous!

Visiting Central Christian Church

This past weekend I visited Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to share our progress with the Missions Committee as well as the entire church. Central has been a major supporter of this church plant from the very beginning and it was a fantastic experience to share how their support is propelling this new church plant into reality.

We are extremely thankful for their hospitality, their continued support and their prayers! Central truly is an amazing church with an amazing vision for Kingdom expansion. We are tremendously privileged to partner with them to make this dream a reality.

The Exponential Conference

exponentiallogo.jpgThis past week I was down in Orlando, Florida for the 2008 National New Church Conference (Exponential) spending some time learning about this art while meeting and networking with a large contingent of people. There were about 3,000 people at the conference this year! While there, I was able to meet with Linda Bergquist, a church planting guru in the Bay Area, and witness her excitement that we were moving out there this summer to begin preparations to plant a church in the city!

After spending a couple of hours with her over a cup of coffee, we learned that there is a move of God beginning to take place in the Bay Area, and that God is truly beginning to make way and prepare the way for new things to begin happening in the city! I was also able to meet a couple of other pastors from the area that are from different denominational affiliations and they too were very excited that we were coming!

God is beginning something amazing for the city of San Francisco, and I’m extremely excited that we get to be a part of it!
